What to do when locked up in quarantine for three months?
Well, we started a company.
Some would say starting a business in the middle of a pandemic that halts the whole world is crazy. But what better time is there for online services?
Sure, we could not visit clients, we couldn´t even meet - but there was Zoom, and the world would bounce back.
DigiCanarias was a year in planning, as Ruth, Runar and Per came together with a perfect mix of Sales, Marketing, and Software backgrounds.
And when quarantine hit us in March 2020, it was time to begin.
Per is Swedish, and came to Gran Canaria in 2016. Runar is from Norway, and settled here in 2017. Ruth is Spanish, and local to Las Palmas. Between us, we have almost a century of combined experience in B2B sales, marketing, and software development - from Spain, Norway, Sweden, Canada, and the United States.
We are based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and our mission is to provide cloud-based publishing and logistics solutions to businesses and organizations in the Canary Islands. Our partners on development and sales are Palantir Information Systems of Canada, and SAM Booking AS in Norway.
Our core products are DigiBasic, a Web and Social Media Publishing platform, and miMuelle - a harbour logistics and booking system with a public portal that also serves as a planning resource for sailing and boating enthusiasts in the Canarias.
Where we are
DigiCanarias´offices are in Villa Santa Fe, a beautiful CoWorking House in the middle of Las Palmas - just a few minutes´walk from the Las Palmas Marina.
